We were fortunate enough to meet Mark Johnson and the rest of the folks over at Green Link Tech before it was too late! Let me explain...

We were right in the middle of a brand new Small Business Server 2008 migration and things just werenʼt going so well. Our current IT guy had been working with my San Antonio based company Home Elevator for 8 years. He had been with us through previous server upgrades even; but for some reason this one was different. It seemed to be dragging on and on. One of the biggest issues we faced was the migration of our in house Exchange Server data. We went several weeks with our email systems malfunctioning. It was frustrating to say the least! The stress level for me and my employees was getting to be too high and was taking itʼs toll. Everyone was on edge as projects werenʼt able to be addressed in the manner they needed. We were loosing money on lost productivity.

I met Mark Johnson through a fellow business acquaintance whom heʼd been consulting for. I thought to myself “I wonder could this guy helps us out with our email problem?”

The thought sent me into territory I wasnʼt quite ready to travel. You see my other IT guy was one of those possessive types who thinks he owned all the computer stuff I had been buying for years. Thatʼs right folks I bought and paid for it but wasnʼt supposed to touch it. Heck, there was even a time when I wasnʼt even allowed the administrator password to my brand new $8000.00 Server!!! The guy was smart but he also had one of those computer guy “god” complexes! You know the type like that nerdy guy on that “Saturday Night Live” skit “Nick the Computer Guy”. Oh well, lesson learned...

I remember that I had one project manager, Tom who was having a real struggle with his laptop. The thing was so slow and almost unusable. I decided it might be worth a shot to see what this Mark Johnson @ Green Link Tech could do. Through mydiscussions with Mark I had hear him talk the talk so to speak but because of my previous bad experience I had to make sure he could walk the walk. So we arranged Mark to swing by on a Friday after work and pick up the laptop to try to work some of his magic. When Mark returned promptly before the start of our regular work day on Monday with the laptop completely fixed, I couldnʼt believe it! I remember asking my project manager a few weeks later if it was still working great.

All my project manager could say was “those Green Link guyʼs, they fixed it!”

You see what started kicking around in my head at that point was “Wow! Mark fixed this laptop in two days when my previous IT guy had known about it for at least two months! Why didnʼt my last guy fix this?”

Green Link Tech I was still just a little gun-shy. I mean I had already been through 8 years of computer IT misery. You know what Iʼm talking about! The previous computer guy had missed appointments, given lame excuses, pushed back deadlines... I heard em all!

Green Link Tech was persistent though and didnʼt give up on us so easily.

They finally got me to agree on a lunch date after several weeks of misses, Philly Cheese Steaks it was. While there I learned about the importance of regular computer maintenance and why an ongoing monthly type service was critical for my companies profitability. Green Link Tech clearly informed me that my regular barrage of computer problems would be a thing of the past.

I got to tell you again folks for emphasis, I thanked them for left the lunch and went back to my office. I still didnʼt sign!!!

Another couple of weeks go by and we are getting hit with our weekly bash of computer problems. Green Link Techʼs persistency finally paid off, I agreed to meet with them in my office. When we sat down to discuss figures I looked at the Managed IT packages Green Link Tech had available. I decided for the meantime I would have Green Link Tech Remotely handle my problems and work in conjunction with my current IT guy. Green Link assured me they had no issues with this but letʼs just say that my previous computer guy did! Probably the “god” complex coming out again. So how did it all work out, right? Well, within 1 week Green Link Tech had fixed most of the minor daily computer performance issues that where causing us pain. They also fixed an Exchange bug that made our emails not synch to our phones. They caught that our backups where not only not configured but, that we had hardware incompatible to our new Server and our backups where occurring hit and miss at best! These were all things my previous computer guy should have caught and fixed but it took the staff over at Green Link Tech to really get it done.

About a month into our service and we are getting all of our Servers, workstations, and laptops remotely supported by Green Link Tech.

I was so comfortable with them that I even added on my Houston office staff to the plan as well. Green Link Tech has performed very promptly on all services for us at our offices. They have shown us patience and are conscientious about our computer networking systems
well being.

I canʼt stress how prompt this company is enough!

They are able to fix issues for us in minutes that my previous computer guy would know about and not fix at all. Another project manager of mine, Larry was having issues connecting to our VPN, his smart phone wouldnʼt synch to the exchange, and some specialized software we have for quotes wouldnʼt work with his digital camera. Mark came in and in 15 minutes had all of these issues resolved. Some of these issues had been there for at least 6 months while my previous computer guy was here. Needless to say we no longer work with that guy and are now only going to exclusively use Green Link Tech for my companies computer support.

It was a leap of faith on my part but boy am I glad I did it!

At my Eye Mart office in San Antonio I am always concerned about wasting time and money. More on that in a minute.

I had been using various friends and family to support my computer needs for several years. I found that even though I was able to get my network up and running I really didnʼt have a good plan for the unexpected. When it came time to upgrade our Server we had asked the guyʼs at Green Link Tech to give us a bid. They were great! They not only shopped the prices on several different options but also helped me to clearly see that I could spend far less on one particular Server that fit my office needs perfectly. That Server has been running problem free for the last 14 months!


My initial contact with Green Link Tech was to install a complex Internet Security Package. I had a mix match of products installed on my workstations and I didnʼt have anything installed on my Server. When it came down to getting prices together my favorite tech at Green Link Tech Mark Johnson informed me that I could get a 15 user 2 year license for about $30.00 more that a 10 user 1 year license. I was able to use the extra license on my home pcʼs. Itʼs reassuring to have someone looking out for me and my business. Well I jumped on it. At the time we had some questions about being completely HIPPA compliant and getting our network secured. There again Green Link Tech was there to not only help us but implement the plan without burdening me in the technobabble.

We have all kinds of specialized equipment in our office for eye examinations. One of our machines is unique in that it has the ability to access our network for storing images of patients info. This machine sets us apart from other eye exam facilities in that we can handle even the most complicated contact lens prescriptions. Green Link Tech got us a system in place on the Server that easily allows us to have a backup of all of those important files.

I signed up with GreenLinkTechʼs Elite Managed Service Plan. What that means is I only pay one flat monthly fee for all my networking and computer support. On multiple occasions my favorite tech Mark has come by and fixed other issues that where not clearly covered under my plan and never charged us! Wow! In an economy where every dime counts itʼs nice to know we have a support system that will not nickel and dime us out of every penny they can! One time he hooked up a scanner and trained our staff on proper usage and other times he helped out with our topography printer. Green Link Tech is looking for a better printing solution when that printer getʼs out dated.

I know that signing up with the Elite plan was one of the best business decisions that I could have made. I enjoy having my network run problem free and being compliant with HIPPA. I also love that I donʼt worry about my computers, server, network, printers, etc...

anymore! I also know that as we switch to newer software systems that will improve my officeʼs functionality and ultimately my profitability that Green Link Tech will be there to get me and my staff through.

Hi there, my name is Dr. Joseph Michael of Life Essentials Chiropractic. I own the health and wellness center on Pat Booker Rd next to Polly’s Pets. I wanted to let you know about my experience with Green Link Tech.

At my office as a sole proprietor, I would always try to figure out my own computer problems, sometimes spending hours on hold waiting for tech support through Dell, Linksys, and many others when we would have issues. That all became a thing of the past when I hired Green Link Tech to manage my computer services. I am now able to focus more on running my business than waiting for my business to run me. For me the cost amortization plus convenience of having a managed or outsourced computer support contract translated into piece of mind regarding my computers integrity.
